The final day of the Morningstar Investment Conference is currently underway, and Bill Winterberg from FPPad.com took viewers through a vlog of highlights from Tuesday.

First, Bill met with Sarah Newcomb, Morningstar’s Senior Behavior Strategist, who shared her thoughts after speaking with Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman about the ever-growing role of tech, specifically artificial intelligence, within the industry.

With regards to AI and the financial industry, Newcomb said, “I think he [Daniel Kahneman] is right in that if we approach financial advice from a human perspective, then we can’t be replaced quite as easily… we need to be smart about which problems are better approached by computers and which ones are better approached by humans.”

Next, Bill stopped by the virtual reality (VR) exhibit hall, in which he used VR goggles to experience scenarios from three different investor perspectives. Bill also met with Mellody Hobson, President of Ariel Investments, to learn her thoughts on how individuals can motivate themselves when pursuing their goals.

The day concluded with a session led by Jeremy Grantham, Chief Investment Strategist at Grantham, Mayo Van Otterloo, a global investment management firm. Grantham stressed the importance of environmental consciousness that can and should be demonstrated by investors in a world stressed by climate change. Take a look below for Bill’s full vlog:
