Netherlands returned to an economic expansion in 2014 after the economy was weighed down by a housing slump and the global financial crisis. The economy is expected to expand 2% this year and 2.4% in 2016, according to the Dutch central planning agency.
“If you look at structural issues, the Netherlands is still very strong, very competitive,” Jochen Moebert an economist at Deutsche Bank AG, told Bloomberg. “I think it’s also a strong benefit that they have a government that is pro-active in implementing policies.”
