An ETF's Options Show Huge December Rate Hike Bets

“Top XLF trades include the recent purchase of about 16,000 XLF December $24.50 calls that expire Dec. 4 for 24 cents when the ETF was around $24. XLF has ticked up slightly and was recently trading at $24.30.

Other notable XLF trades include an investor buying 32,000 December $25 calls and 40,000 November $24.50 calls. If the fund rises, the calls will increase in value,” reports Steven Sears for Barron’s.
