The weakness is dragging down industrial ETFs. For instance, SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF (NYSEArca: DIA), which follows the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index, was down 1.1% Thursday. DIA includes a 2.9% position in CAT.
Additionally, on Thursday, the Industrial Select Sector SPDR (NYSEArca: XLI) fell 1.2%, Vanguard Industrials ETF (NYSEArca: VIS) decreased 1.4% and iShares U.S. Industrials ETF (NYSEArca: IYJ) dropped 1.6% and Fidelity MSCI Industrials Index ETF (NYSEArca: FIDU) 1.3%.
CAT makes up 2.6% of XLI, 2.6% of VIS, 1.7% of IYJ and 1.9% of CAT.
