Investors can track the telecom sector through ETFs, including the iShares U.S. Telecommunications ETF (NYSEArca: IYZ), Vanguard Telecommunication Services ETF (NYSEArca: VOX) and Fidelity MSCI Telecommunication Services Index ETF (NYSEArca: FCOM). IYZ has a 2.44% 12-month yield, VOX has a 2.61% 12-month yield and FCOM has a 3.02% 12-month yield.

Additionally, income investors can also gain exposure to the utilities sector thorugh the Utilities Select Sector SPDR (NYSEArca: XLU), Vanguard Utilities ETF (NYSEArca: VPU) and iShares U.S. Utilities ETF (NYSEArca: IDU). These dividend-generating stocks and sectors may also look more attractive after New Yorke Fed President William Dudley hinted that a September rate hike was less likely given the current volatile environment.
