Vanguard's Yones, Lydon on How Indexing Made ETFs | ETF Trends

Doug Yones, Head of Domestic Equity Index and ETF Product Management at Vanguard, joined Tom Lydon, ETF Trends publisher, at the Morningstar Investment Conference in Chicago to discuss index construction, the backbone of the exchange traded fund industry.

“Four of our very large flagship products are going through some changes,” Yones said. “We are adding small-cap exposure, which is exciting for us, where we predominantly always offer large- and mid-cap exposure. Now, we’re going to add small-cap component as well, so go even more diversified.”

In June, Vanguard tinkered with four popular broad international ETFs, including the Vanguard FTSE Developed Markets ETF (NYSEArca: VEA), Vanguard FTSE Europe ETF (NYSEArca: VGK), Vanguard FTSE Pacific ETF (NYSEArca: VPL) and Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets ETF (NYSEArca: VWO). The ETFs now include some small-cap exposure. [Vanguard Tinkers With Some International ETFs]
