Not Exactly an Awe-Inspiring Rally for Some ETFs

Of the other seven sector SPDR ETFs, only the Health Care Select Sector SPDR (NYSEArca: XLV) stands a reasonable chance of reclaiming its 50-day line today as the largest health care ETF came into Tuesday less than a tenth of a percent below that moving average.

On the other hand, the Energy Select Sector SPDR (NYSEArca: XLE) has its work cut out for itself. Once the best performer of the nine SPDRs, the recent tumble in the energy patch has made XLE the worst sector SPDR on a year-to-date basis and the ETF came into Tuesday residing 7.4% below its 50-day moving average.
