As Kiplinger’s notes, semiconductor stocks have been important drivers of QTEC’s 15.1% year-to-date gain, a run that enabled the ETF to recently touch an all-time high while QQQ is still waiting to accomplish that feat.
One of this year’s top-performing semiconductor ETF is SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (NYSEArca: XSD), which has surged 17.2%. Ten of QTEC’s 16 semiconductor holdings are also found in XSD.
