Gold ETF Exodus Continues

GLD, IAU and SGOL are three of the most popular ETFs owned by U.S. hedge funds. At the end of the second quarter, hedge funds owned nearly 3% of GLD’s shares outstanding, 1.7% of IAU and 2.4% of SGOL. http://www.etftrends.com/2014/10/hedge-funds-love-these-etfs/

In a reversal of what has been a consistent theme this year, silver ETFs have been joining their gold counterparts in the lost assets column this month. The iShares Silver Trust (NYSEArca: SLV) has lost $113.1 million this month, but the ETFS Physical Silver Shares (NYSEArca: SIVR), the second-largest U.S.-listed silver ETF behind SLV, has seen modest inflows.
