Bespoke data also revealed that other cyclical sectors, including technology, energy, industrial, transportation and commodity stocks also outperformed the S&P 500 nine months before the first tightening, gaining at least 15%. In contrast, utilities, telephone, health-care and consumer stocks typically underperformed.
