Natural Gas Tumble Weighs on Equity ETF

Investors have displayed some faith in FCG, pouring $35 million into the ETF this year. However, that number is small compared to second-quarter inflows of almost $105 million. Since the start of this month, nearly $26 million has departed FCG.

Those outflows are not a coincidence. UNG is down almost 15% since the start of July, underscoring the point that if natural gas futures weaken, investors are apt to take out of their angst on FCG.
