Flows Show Modest Increase in ETF Risk Appetite

Although there were departures from emerging markets equity funds, the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSEArca: EEM), the second-largest emerging markets ETF, brought in almost $75 million.

Last week marked the end of a multi-week outflow streak for Russian equity funds, said EPFR. The Market Vectors Russia ETF (NYSEArca: RSX), the largest Russia ETF, added $19 million in new assets.

EPFR said investors have been pulling cash from Vietnam equity funds, but also noted new assets flowed into broader frontier markets ETFs last week.

Down 10.6% since April, the Market Vectors Vietnam ETF (NYSEArca: VNM) is in the midst of another second quarter swoon. As ETF Trends reported last month, VNM has never posted a positive second-quarter performance. The ETF lost $4.9 million in assets last week. [Second-Quarter Woes for the Vietnam ETF]
