The iShares U.S. Home Construction ETF (NYSEArca: ITB) is a purer homebuilders ETF as the bulk of that fund’s ten largest holdings are true home construction firms. ITB lost 1.5% in the first quarter.
The oft-overlooked PowerShares Dynamic Building & Construction Portfolio (NYSEArca: PKB), which evaluates holdings based on price momentum, earnings momentum, quality, management action, and value, jumped 3.6% in the first three months of the year.
