Cantor Fitzgerald on Friday said it has hired Reginald Browne, who played a key role in establishing Knight Capital Group as a powerhouse ETF market maker.

The firm said it has hired a team of ETF market making specialists led by Browne, Eric Lichtenstein and Darren Taube.

Earlier this month, Retuers reported that KCG Holdings, the firm formed through Getco’s takeover of Knight Capital Group, said the three managers were exiting the ETF team.

Browne, Lichtenstein and Taube were unable to agree on terms of new contracts at KCG, according to the report.

The trio have worked together for over eight years, Cantor Fitzgerald said in a press release Friday.

“Reggie, Eric, and Darren have built one of Wall Street’s most cohesive teams and they are unquestionably the most knowledgeable and experienced professionals when it comes to the pricing and trading of ETFs,” said Shawn Matthews, CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald.

“We plan to maintain our historical commitment in helping sponsors launch ETFs in the U.S. and expand services in Europe,” Browne said.
