Health care has been a great sector performer in 2012 despite some long term uncertainty. Health care firms are focused in on patent cliffs that will be expiring, generic market competition and revenue streams. In the future, the materialization of Obama care will become a reality, putting the sector in a profitable position, with the U.S. a leading nation when it comes to healthcare spending. Other sectors within the S&P 500 that performed well in 2012 is technology, up 14.4%, consumer staples, up 10.9% and industrials, up 10%.
