ETF Trends Editor Tom Lydon speaks with Northern Trust’s (NasdaqGM: NTRS) Global Head of ETFs, Shundrawn Thomas, about the renewed interest in commodities and the easy access via ETFs. Mr. Thomas explains the FlexShares Morningstar Global Upstream Natural Resources Index Fund (NSYEArca: GUNR) and how it speaks to many of the needs of investors.
“As you know, many of the commodity / natural resources products that are on the market are not very well diversified. So with GUNR we have those five exposures; energy, agriculture, metals, but also timber and water, which make them very unique,” says Thomas.
The Northern Trust ETF expert also discusses their new funds to compliment FlexShares Morningstar U.S. Market Factor Tilt Index Fund (NSYEArca: TILT): TLTD and TLTE.
