Starting Wednesday, financial professionals and exchange traded fund industry leaders will converge at the annual Morningstar ETF Invest Conference in Chicago to discuss the industry’s latest developments and how to use the financial products in investment portfolios.

Liz Ann Sonders, senior vice president and chief investment strategist at Charles Schwab, will deliver the keynote address on Wednesday at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in Chicago.

BlackRock’s iShares global chief investment strategist Russ Koesterich will begin the conference Thursday with a look at how the current political race has influenced investment decisions.

The ETF Invest Conference will feature topics on portfolio strategy and construction, highlighting points such as alternative investments and foreign exposure. For instance, on Thursday, attendees may look sit in on the “Alternative ETF Tool Kit” session to learn how institutional investors utilize ETFs other than the traditional beta indexing styles to diminish risk and boost returns.

Additionally, advisors may learn how the ETF industry itself is evolving and ways to use this to their advantage. For example, on Friday, attendees may look at the “Future of the ETF Managed Portfolio Landscape” and the “Why We Stopped Worrying and Embraced the Active ETF” sessions.
