Technology names, and obviously AAPL is an essential part of this mix in that it has a 15% weighting in the Nasdaq 100 and a 3.28% weighting in the S&P 500.
Elsewhere, gold and silver ETFs (IAU, GLD, and SLV, etc.) posted impressive rallies last week in an environment where the U.S. dollar weakened considerably against the Euro amidst the coordinated central bank actions earlier in the week. This trend did reverse somewhat going into the final hours of the trading day on Friday as there were some renewed concerns about Europe heading into the weekend.
With the overseas markets indicating a higher U.S. equity market on positive news out of Italy’s debt crisis, we will be watchful of the S&P 500 to see if it can indeed challenge its 200 day moving average once more, as this has seemingly presented a forcefield of resistance in recent months.
