Exchange traded funds (ETFs) that invest in India stocks were among the top percentage gainers Wednesday afternoon as emerging markets recovered after the previous session’s decline.

WisdomTree India Earnings Fund (NYSEArca: EPI), iPath MSCI India Index ETN (NYSEArca: INP) and PowerShares India Portfolio (NYSEArca: PIN) were all up nearly 3% in recent action.

The iShares MSCI Emerging Markets Index Fund (NYSEArca: EEM) gained 1% following its roughly 2% loss on Tuesday.

India is one of the components of so-called BRIC funds, which have seen performance strengthen lately.

The Indian rupee fell Wednesday to a near two-week low as stocks rallied, WSJ.com reported.

WisdomTree Dreyfus Indian Rupee Fund (NYSEArca: ICN) was down fractionally at last check.
