Copper-Miner ETFs Extend Winning Streak | ETF Trends

Copper-miner stocks were set to extend their four-day winning streak Monday as exchange traded funds (ETFs) following the sector climbed above their 50-day moving average.

Global X Copper Miners ETF (NYSEArca: COPX) and First Trust ISE Global Copper Index Fund (NasdaqGM: CU) were both up about 3% in recent trading. The $222 million iPath Dow Jones-UBS Copper Subindex Total Return ETN (NYSEArca: JJC) also traded higher Monday. [Increased Demand Helps Prop Up Copper ETFs.]

Copper is expected to rise 17% on the biggest mine shortages since 2004, Bloomberg reported.

Elsewhere in the metals complex, silver ETFs rallied Monday.
