New ETFs: Corporate Bonds, Dividends and More | ETF Trends

If you were thinking 2011 would be a quiet year for exchange traded funds (ETFs), think again. The market seems busier than ever with a slate of new funds coming to the market.

A new series of end-date ETFs has launched courtesy of Guggenheim. The new series of bond ETFs will not have an unlimited investment span; instead, they’ll come with set limits on how long the funds will stay invested.

Murray Coleman for Barron’s reports that Guggenheim, the new owner of Claymore’s ETF lineup, is bringing to market these four high-yield bond portfolios with defined investment dates:

  • Guggenheim BulletShares 2012 High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (NYSEArca: BSJC)
  • Guggenheim BulletShares 2013 High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (NYSEArca: BSJD)
  • The Guggenheim BulletShares 2014 High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (NYSEArca: BSJE)
  • The Guggenheim BulletShares 2015 High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (NYSEArca: BSJF)

Also this week, iShares filed for a high-dividend ETF. Olivier Ludwig for Index Universe reports that iShares High Dividend Equity Fund will be based on the Morningstar Dividend Yield Focus Index and will seek to own U.S.-based companies that have provided relatively “high dividend yields on a consistent basis,” according to the filing.
