While Oil Prices Are Grounded, Airline ETF Isn't Soaring | Page 2 of 2 | ETF Trends

While any drop in prices is good news, the airlines are still coping with a struggling economy and tightening consumer budgets.

Oil is down to less than $70 a barrel after reports of big inventory jumps, reports Stevenson Jacobs for the Associated Press. It’s the lowest level in 14 months.

JetBlue (JBLU) will announced its earnings on Oct. 23 at 9 Eastern, while United (UAL) will announce theirs on Oct. 21 at 11 Eastern.

iShare Dow Jones U.S. Transportation Average (IYT) is down 18.8% year-to-date. Southwest is 2.2%, American is 1.1% and JetBlue is 0.6%.
