Insider News: ETF Guru Deborah Fuhr Lands At Barclays | ETF Trends

Exchange traded fund (ETF) guru and research pioneer Deborah Fuhr has been appointed the Global Head of ETF Research and Implementation Strategy at Barclays Global Investors.

Fuhr had been part of the research team at Morgan Stanley, where she spent the past 11 years focused on the ETF Market before departing in May. The firm eventually closed its investments strategies group.

I met with Fuhr a couple months ago in London, and it’s exciting to see that she’s emerged over at Barclays, since she’s a hot commodity in the industry. She was one of the first analysts to develop in-depth reports that sized up the global ETF marketplace, reports Murray Coleman for Index Universe.

Her new assignment will begin on Sept. 15, and she’ll be working not only with Barclays’ client base in Europe and North America, but also in developing markets such as Australasia, Latin America and the Middle East.

Once she takes office, she’s expected to assemble her team quickly and begin producing reports. The first one is said to be published at the end of October.

Despite iShares‘ position as the world’s largest ETF provider, Fuhr says she has and will continue to produce accurate and independent data, says Ruth Sullivan for the Financial Times.
