Barclays added another bond exchange traded fund (ETF) to their growing list, the iShares JP Morgan US Dollar Emerging Markets Bond Fund (EMB). EMB will trade on NYSE Arca and will track the JPMorgan EMBI Global Core Index.
The index represents debt obligations issued in U.S. dollars by sovereign and quasi-sovereign entities of emerging market countries. Top country weightings in the ETF are Brazil 11.7%, Russia 10.8% and Turkey 9.6%. ETFGuide reports that the expense ratio of 0.60%. This area of the market was previously available to institutional investors only.
