First Trust Advisors will launch an exchange traded fund (ETF) early next year, that will track the NASDAQ Clean Edge US Liquid Series Index. The index consists of companies shifting to cleaner energy. Bill Baue of Social Funds reports that the world’s economy is shifting away from fossil fuels and these ETFs will capture the investment opportunity. There are 45 companies that fit into the Index and the categories include: renewable electricity generation, renewable fuels, energy storage and conversion, energy intelligence, and advanced materials.
