ETF Trends - Upcoming India ETF | ETF Trends

Roger Nusbaum and Aaron Pressman review the current exchange traded funds PowerShares plans to roll out, including an India ETF.  It looks as though this ETF will track Halter USX India Index which includes only 18 companies, two of which make up almost half of the index.  This index does not account for all the small companies that make up the Indian marketplace.

Currently if an individual wants to invest in India, they can choose from two closed-end funds, Morgan Stanley India Investment Fund (IIF) or India Fund Inc. (IFN), both of which are trading at a premium.  IIF includes 50 large-cap holdings.  IFN holds mostly large-cap, but does have some small-cap exposure in its 91 holdings.
