Let the trading begin. The long awaited silver exchange traded fund is set to start trading this Friday, April 28th. Barclay’s deposited 1.5 million ounces of silver into the trust and shares of the silver ETF are expected to represent 10 ounces. The ETF will be named iShares Silver Trust and trade under the symbol SLV.
The gold ETFs, iShares COMEX Gold Trust (IAU) and streetTRACKS Gold Trust (GLD) have been popular. And as the price of silver reached new highs lately, in anticipation of the launch of SLV, it will be interesting to watch on Friday as the trading begins.
