roughbert,

You were missinformed then because you could spread bet on a furures contract for an index, for example the december futures contract on the FTSE 100 expires on 18th of december so it can be rolled over then into the next contract that will last 3 months before needing to be rolled over again.

I was thinking about spreadbetting on indices but when I asked the question regarding keeping a position open for 2 years, was told that interest charged on rolling over the bet every day would wipe me out.

Yes, have a look at IG Index, www.igindex.co.uk. IG Index will allow you to spread bet on a range of UK and internationally listed ETFs. Make sure you understand the risks of spread betting as you could end up owing money.

Hi, I'm a new member to this forum, but I've been a subscriber to the email newsletter for a while now and have a copy of The ETF Playbook.

I have a simple question which I can't find an answer to anywhere else. Does anybody know of a broker who offers the opportunity to spread bet on ETFs?
