Pimco Looks to Expand ETF Presence | ETF Trends

Pimco is making waves in the exchange traded fund business with plans to launch an ETF version of Total Return Fund, the huge portfolio overseen by bond whiz Bill Gross.

The investment manager has also filed paperwork with regulators to introduce ETFs to track bonds in Australia, Canada and Germany, according to a report. [ETF Spotlight: Pimco Enhanced Short Maturity Strategy]

The fund provider offers actively managed ETFs that seek to cherry-pick the best investments in an asset class.

The company also has a lineup of passive ETFs that invest in Treasuries, inflation-protected bonds and corporate debt.

The firm’s stable of ETFs includes:
