SunPower Clouds Solar ETFs | ETF Trends

Exchange traded funds that invest in the solar sector fell Wednesday along with SunPower Corp. (NasdaqGS: SPWRA) after French energy company Total SA completed a deal for 60% of the company.

Market Vectors Solar Energy (NYSEArca: KWT), iShares S&P Global Clean Energy (NasdaqGM: ICLN), Guggenheim Solar ETF (NYSEArca: TAN) and PowerShares Wilderhill Clean Energy (NYSEArca: PBW) all traded lower Wednesday.

SunPower and Total confirmed the earlier-announced transaction but some investors were unable to sell their shares, according to a report from Bloomberg News. [Solar Energy ETFs Rally on SunPower Deal]
