An ETF 'TIP' for Rising Inflation Expectations

Each week, ETF Trends publisher Tom Lydon sits down for “ETF of the Week” for MarketWatch on Chuck Jaffe’s MoneyLife Show where he highlights big movers and losers among exchange traded funds.

This week, Lydon looked at the iShares TIPS Bond ETF (TIP). Treasury Inflation Protected Securities or TIPS; TIPS are indexed to inflation as a way to shield investors from negative effects of inflation.

President-elect Donald trump expected to back a number of measures that could fuel inflationary pressures.

Over the one-month period ended November 18, the TIP ETF attracted $2.1 billion in net inflows. It has added $6.2 billion net inflows YTD.
