Rahul Sen Sharma, partner at Indxx LLC, joined Asset TV’s Evan Cooper at ETF Trends’ inaugural ETF Boot Camp in New York to discuss the firm’s approach to creating bespoke indices for money managers.
Sen Sharma notes that money managers using rules-based strategies are increasingly approaching the firm about creating indices based on those strategies. After Indxx standardizes the manager’s approach and forms the index, some managers simply use the index internally while others will use the index for a new ETF.
An independent back test can help advisors validate their approach to potential clients. Sen Sharma notes that advisors are not limited by size of assets in approaching Indxx, but rather the conversation is more about expertise and strategy.
