Davidow Talks Index Investing, Fundamental Weighting

Anthony Davidow, vice president for alternative beta and asset allocation strategist at the Charles Schwab (NYSE: SCHW) Center for Financial Research joined ETF Trends Publisher Tom Lydon at the Morningstar ETF Conference in Chicago to discuss Schwab’s commitment to index investing.

In the whitepaper The Elegance of Indexing published by the Schwab Center for Financial Research earlier this year, the firm said “One way to reap the benefits of diversification is through index investing—the practice of investing in a fund with a portfolio of securities that mirrors a particular index.”

The Schwab 1000 Index Fund, a basket of the 1,000 largest U.S. companies, has returned an average of 9.4% annually since 1991.

Davidow also talked about the growth of the firm’s fundamentally-weighted ETF offerings.
