BlackRock Managing Director Sue Thompson and ProShares Head of Institutional Investment Strategy Joanne Hill talk with ETF Trends Publisher Tom Lydon at the Morningstar ETF Conference in Chicago about the growth of the Women in ETFs (WE) organization.
WE, which launched in January, has already blossomed to hundreds of members and several regional chapters throughout the U.S., including Boston, Chicago, New York and soon, San Francisco.
WE has taken a more active role in education, and looking ahead, the organization will also help women connect at other events.
A recent study has found that organizations with greater gender diversity in leadership roles show better financial performance, according to Development Dimensions International. Specifically, DDI found that among leaders in the top 20% organizations, about 37% of all leaders are women, whereas the bottom 20% organizations show 19% of all leaders are women.
