Tom Lydon Interviews S&P Capital IQ's Rosenbluth

The equities market touched record highs this year as investors shifted over to riskier stocks and related exchanged traded funds. S&P analysts believe this trend could continue into next year.

ETF Trends’ Tom Lydon sat down with Todd Rosenbluth, Director of ETF & Mutual Fund Research for S&P Capital IQ, at the Charles Schwab IMPACT 2013 conference in Washington, D.C. to discuss interesting trends developing in the market.

“What we saw was strong interest in U.S. equities, in particular in large-cap, in mid-cap and even sector ETFs, which saw strong inflows throughout October,” Rosenbluth said. “We think the trend is favorable going forward for these investment styles.”

As investors become more familiar with the ETF investment vehicle and browse the a number of options available, investors are becoming more “tactical” with thier investment choices.

“We’ve seen strong interest in industrials, strong interest in consumer discretionary – two sectors we at S&P Capital IQ are favorable on,” Rosenbluth added.
