It has been another banner year for dividend as positive dividend actions across S&P 500 stocks have far outpaced cuts and suspensions.
Notably, dividend ETFs are shining in what some have dubbed the golden age of dividends. ETF issuers are meeting investors’ demands and passion for dividends with a steady stream of new income funds. More importantly, dividend ETFs are thriving in terms of asset-gathering proficiency.
There is now roughly $80 billion stashed in dividend ETFs, up from $55 billion a year ago, and well above the $67 billion allocated to ETFs holding U.S. Treasuries, according to Ned Davis Research.
