Taiwan ETF Drops After Exports Report | ETF Trends

The $3.5 billion iShares MSCI Taiwan Index Fund (NYSEArca: EWT) was active in morning trading Monday after the country reported exports for March.

Export growth in Taiwan slowed last month on lower demand from Japan following the earthquake and tsunami, RTTNews reported.

The Taiwan ETF was down nearly 1% in early U.S. action Monday. The fund is slightly negative so far in 2011.

Taiwanese exports rose to a record in March, but Japan’s quake resulted in the first on-year fall in exports since late 2009, Dow Jones Newswires reported.
