Retail ETF in the Spotlight as Black Friday Looms | ETF Trends

The markets are moving on Thanksgiving spirit and certain exchange traded funds (ETFs) are worth minding this week as things develop.

Don Dion for The Street noted five ETFs investors should watch this week, including:

  • Market Vectors Agribusiness (NYSEArca: MOO)
  • iShares MSCI Mexico Index Fund (NYSEArca: EWW)
  • iShares Cohen & Steers Realty Majors Index Fund(NYSEArca: ICF)
  • Market Vectors High Yield Municipal Index ETF (NYSEArca: HYD)

The most interesting ETF in this mix, however, may be SPDR S&P Retail ETF (NYSEArca: XRT). After all, Black Friday starts…well, it has mostly already kicked off for most retailers. This week’s spending spree comes on the heels of last week’s positive earnings reports from companies dedicated to various parts of the retail sector.

On top of that, there will be a slew of economic reports that could affect the retail ETFs, including GDP tomorrow and consumer sentiment and personal incomes on Wednesday. [Retail ETFs Gear Up for the Holidays.]

For full disclosure, Tom Lydon’s clients own shares of MOO.
