Sector Highlight: Homebuilder ETFs

Homebuilder-related exchange traded funds (ETFs) are trading higher this morning after President Barack Obama signed an extension of the homebuyer tax credit. The new tax credit will be extended until April 30, 2010 and it gives $6,500 to buyers who “move up” or “trade-in” their homes as long as they’ve lived in their existing one for five years.
