worldwarii_memorial_brooklyn_1071713_tn Military veterans across the United States will commemorate those who served our country well. There are related exchange traded funds (ETFs) that can help serve your portfolio in the same manner. The holiday, originally called Armistice Day, was created to honor veterans of World War I. As of 1954, Congress signed this day in as a holiday to honor all veterans of war in the United States.

Many cities and towns across the United States will have parades and observances, for the sacrifices made for this land, says Alejandro Martínez-Cabrera for The San Francisco Chronicle. (Reasons that you may prosper from an aerospace and defense ETF.)

Related ETFs that are in line with this day include:

  • PowerShares Aerospace and Defense (NYSEArca: PPA): up 17.4% year-to-date

  • iShares Dow Jones US Aerospace (NYSEArca: ITA): up 17.9% year-to-date
