July ETF Performance Report

July ETF PerformanceFor exchange traded funds (ETFs) and the broader market, July was one of the best months in years.

For the month, the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 7.8%, its best month since October 2002. The Nasdaq rose 8.2%, and the S&P 500 gained 6.9%.

The top sectors for the month include coal, up 17.2%, biotechnology, up about 12%, and basic materials, up 13.1%. The weakest sectors include natural gas, down 5.9%, and agriculture, down 1.4%.
