You are correct. As the story we referred to in the link points out, these really only include GLD, IAU and SLV in the United States. 

Investors need to take care and be aware that just because a fund has a precious metal in the name, it doesn&#039;t mean the metal is actually held.</description>

Get ur head up out of the sand. Not ALL of the precious metal ETFs and FUNDS have ALL of their supposed assets in their possession, under lock and key, with a custodian. Some have paper promises because they cannot get delivery on all they need and some have loaned out (for a supposed profit) some of their hard goods. Comes a crunch and guess who ends up holding an empty bag.</description>
