Often, we’ll get questions about exchange traded funds (ETFs) in the comments. While we try to answer them all, we realize that many of you might not ever see the questions or the answers. And who knows? Maybe it’s something you’re curious about, too.
If you’ve got a burning ETF question, go ahead and drop us a line. We may answer your question in a future post!

If the ETF SLV goes under do the holders of ETF shares still have their interest backed by bullion?
Is there any chance of default?
Thanks!

Do technical indicators, MACD, Stochastics, Bollinger Bands, RSI etc. behave the same way and provide the same results for ETFs as they do for common stocks? Are there exceptions or other considerations that should be taken into account?

Hi Tom,
In general, yes. Since ETFs represent asset classes, sectors and global regions, each have their own individual trends and trading ranges, so technical analysis works the same for ETFs as individual stocks.
