Expense Ratios for ETFs

Etf_expense_ratios For the third quarter, expense ratios for exchange traded funds (ETFs) rose slightly or stayed the same. The average expense ratio for industry and sector ETFs stayed level at 0.52%, reports ETF Guide. From this group, the Select Sector SPDRs reduced expense ratios to 0.23% from 0.24%.The average expense ratio for fixed-income ETFs is 0.19%. Fixed-income ETFs saw an increase from 14 to 34 ETFs in the third quarter. Recently, many of the fund families introducing new ETFs have added temporary fee waivers that reduce expense ratios during the early years of the fund’s launch in hopes of attracting greater assets.
