Alternative Energy Generates New ETF

2505308522 Van Eck Global launched Market Vectors-Global Alternative Energy (GEX) today on the New York Stock Exchange. GEX will give investors direct access to a number of the world’s leading alternative energy stocks. This ETF seeks to replicate, before fees and expenses, the price and yield performance of the Ardour Global Index. Companies in the index make 50% of their revenues from alternative energy or related industries in the U.S., Europe and Asia. They are involved in 5 core industry sectors: 70% alternative energy sources (wind, bio-fuel, solar, geo-thermal); 3% distributed generation; 9% environmental technologies related to alternative energy; 4%energy efficiency; and 14% enabling technologies.
