15every190 Ben Stein for The New York Times takes a moment and ponders what he believes we should be grateful for towards investing innovations, one of which is exchange traded funds (ETFs). "There have been some marvelous developments in the field that virtually beggar the imagination and would be hard for an investor working as late as the 1960’s to imagine." While Wall Street does plenty he questions, Stein believes the securities business has come a long way in helping the ordinary man. Some of those areas include:

  • Deregulation of Commissions
  • Rise of Index Funds
  • Easy Path to Foreign Stocks Via ETFs-diversification!
  • Online Trading
  • Variable Annuities
