Top Performing ETF for 2006 - PowerShares WilderHill Clean Energy Fund (PBW)

February 13, 2006 at 8:31 am by Tom Lydon

Windmill President Bush wants the U.S. to reduce our reliance on foreign oil.  Americans are looking to alternative energy sources more than before, which is precisely the focus of PowerShares WilderHill Energy Fund (PBW).  The demand for energy is growing worldwide and there is continual research and investment into clean energy.  This exchange-traded fund looks at clean energy sources such as solar, fuel cell and wind.  Clean energy is domestically abundant in the winds that blow across the American Midwest.

PBW began trading last year and is up 22% this year.  There are other funds that invest in renewable energy, but this is the only one with a focus on clean energy.  Pbwpost
