Amex ETF Listings Leap in 2007

Youtholympics_wideweb__430x272 The number of exchange traded funds (ETFs) listed on the American Stock Exchange nearly doubled in 2007.

According to the Associated Press, the Amex ETF Marketplace welcomed 179 new funds from 14 different providers, which is a 95% increase for those doing the math at home. The exchange also listed 65% of all ETFs launched last year, putting it ahead of rival NYSE Arca.

Amex now lists 380 ETFs and has $250 billion in assets.
