Fixed Income ETFs Explode in 2007

Gov_rocker The number of fixed-income exchange traded funds (ETFs) ballooned in 2007. In total, says Ray Hendon at Seeking Alpha, 41 new funds were brought to the market. That’s up from about six funds in recent years.

iShares, once the lone purveyor of the bond ETF, introduced 13 bond funds this year, which brings their total offered to 19. Vanguard, PowerShares, Ameristock and State Street Global Advisors also entered the fixed income arena.
