Britain’s Bird Flu Slaughter
November 17th at 1:00pm by Tom Lydon
Thousands of turkeys are to be slaughtered in Britain, and it has nothing to do with Thanksgiving. It’s the latest of the so-called Bird-Flu outbreaks. This topic has been on the back burner, and now with the markets being challenged, how will this affect consumer confidence? Despite this huge slaughter, all the country’s major supermarkets are under scrutiny, reports the Associated Press. Poultry on four sites were ordered destroyed after the virus was discovered on a farm Sunday, with a total of 24,000 turkeys destroyed on five sites, all connected to Gressingham Foods Company.
Will this add to an already slow holiday shopping season? I’m thrilled to get this news since I’m going to London in a few weeks for the World Money Show.
